San Francisco: 13th-20th May 2000

My first major trip as an adult - had a ball, but it was all too short!

California: 7th December 2000-6th May 2001

A magical trip - 3 days in Los Angeles hanging with Jason and Dave and going on a private Fox Studios backlot tour, along with a BEARS LA Beer Bust, combined with 2 days in Lompoc, with Terry and Mike, and then 25 days in San Francisco. Amazing. I almost felt as though I was becoming a local in SF.

Melbourne: 14th-23rd September 2001

Took a quick break down to Melbourne - an opportunity to hang around with friends and go to the VicBears bar night!

USA/Canada: Dec 2001 - Jan 2002

My largest trip I've yet done in 2001-2, just prior to starting my Internship, which I did on a round-world airfare through the Star Alliance network.

US/UK/Canada: October/November 2003

I've been wanting to do the South of the US for a number of years, but never made it - so now I'm planning to do it in the latter half of the 2003, as part of a major trip. Regrettably, I had hoped to be able to do continental Europe and other parts of the US as well, but I ended up with less time than I had hoped, and as a result needed to postpone some destinations. But after much deliberation, planning, here is the tentative itinerary, which, although booked and confirmed, is subject to revision.

Australia - States and Territories: 2003

As I'm spending about 40% of the year doing week on/week off work, I have a lot of weeks off to travel. Over the course of the year, I'm aiming to cover every state and territory in Australia.

3rd-9th February 2003: Drove to Brisbane, QLD
17th-23rd March 2003: Flew to Perth, WA, with time down at Margaret River and Augusta.
31st March-6th April 2003: Flew to Launceston, TAS and driving around the state - Burnie, Cradle Mountain, Hobart, Port Arthur.
20th-22nd June 2003: Flew to Melbourne, VIC, to be a judge at the Mr Australian Bear and Cub Competition, and attend Southern HiBearnation 2003 put on by VicBears.
21st-22nd November 2003: Drove to Canberra, ACT for the Forrester's Housewarming Party and to catch up with friends.
14th-18th January 2004: Adelaide

Current Term: Chronic Pain. This is an interesting term and a future career interest - it's good to be back at a big hospital again too - I'm loving it!

What's on in July/August 2007:
  • Work - and lots of it!
  • City2Surf again in August - I'm in the front pack this year, and I have to beat my time of 91 mins 18 secs from 2006!
  • Time to start preparing for my first triathlon in November!
